Top 50 Highest-Graduating Bachelor’s Colleges – Data Table

Home / Education / Top 50 Highest-Graduating Bachelor’s Colleges – Data Table

This list kicks off a new series for the Hacking Knowledge site. We’ll be regularly publishing a combination of college review lists and data tables for a variety of rankings.

In this article, we present a data table of the top 50 bachelor’s colleges in terms of graduation rate. The data comes from the U.S. Department of Education’s “IPEDS Datacenter,” for the AY (Academic Year) 2015-16.

Because this is a data table and not a full college review rankings list, we’re presenting the bachelor’s graduation rate information, plus additional data points, without verification of a college’s continued operations, as retrieved from the IPEDS Datacenter database. The information presented below includes:

  • College/ university name (with clickable hyperlink to their official Web site)
  • Location of main campus or administrative headquarters, as applicable
  • Operating type – public, private nonprofit, or private for-profit
  • Number of students (at all levels of study)
  • Number of undergraduate students, which is bachelor’s students — plus associate’s students, where applicable
  • Graduation rate (percentage)
  • Retention rate (percentage) of full-time first-time first-year students

We’ll use this data in part for future college reviews by introducing ranking factors such as size, operating type, etc. (The full data set includes well over 2,000 college and universities, which we’ll be drawing from.) In this data table only, schools are sorted using three factors in decreasing order each: graduation rate first, retention rate second, and total number of students third.

Remember to always research an institution thoroughly for suitability to your educational goals before applying.
